Hints & Tips for Travellers to the UK
A few ideas that may make your trip more pleasant or may save you a bit of money.
National Trust Touring Pass
The National Trust offer the National Trust Touring Pass, this allows you or your family free access to National Trust properties for 1 or 2 weeks. The National Trust run a lot of historic houses in the UK whereas English Heritage run more of the castles and ruins.
One thing to be aware of if travelling out of season is that a lot of National Trust properties are only open from about March through October, English Heritage properties are more likely to be open all year. Check the opening times of any property you want to see before planning your journey.
New Zealanders
If you are travelling from New Zealand you should think about joining the

Historic Places Trust
membership allows you free entry to all National Trust properties in the UK
as well as a lot of other properties around the world.
